Art Quilts
Portrait Series
A quilt is created by sewing and piecing various pieces of fabrics together. A person’s identity is also created by “sewing” or “piecing” together memories and experiences which shapes that person’s life. These pieces are centered on the theme of identity; what shapes a person’s personality and sense of self? I used family photos and printed papers and fabrics to create these art quilts. They are a literal as well as figurative narrative of my life.
